Amsadène Maïdé Hangatta is an emblematic figure of Chadian politics, known for her tireless commitment to development and democracy. Married and a mother, she combines family responsibilities with an impressive political and professional career. Currently a member of the National Assembly and vice-chair of the Patriotic Salvation Movement (MPS) parliamentary group, she embodies women’s leadership in Chad.
Solid training
Born in N’Djamena, she attended the Thilam Thilam school complex and then studied in Dakar, Senegal, earning two specialised master’s degrees — in project management and human resource management — and a bachelor’s in business administration from the African Institute of Management.
Recognised expertise
Back in Chad, she began in the humanitarian sector as an administrative and HR assistant at AIRD-UNHCR Chad. She went on to hold several strategic posts: head of monitoring, evaluation and performance at the Ministry of Finance and Budget; technical adviser and then deputy director general of the Civil Aviation Authority (ADAC); coordinator of audits, quality and the National Security Programme at ADAC; and counsellor at the Court of Auditors.
A remarkable political rise
She began her political involvement in the MPS youth wing, as its vice-president, and rose through the ranks: member of the national political bureau since 2016 (Ennedi-Ouest province) and third deputy secretary-general in charge of mass organisations. As an MP, she is vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and chair of the committee monitoring implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
She also played a central role in organising electoral processes, as head of logistics and equipment at the National Commission for the Organisation of the Constitutional Referendum (CONOREC).
Honours
Best Leader award at the Youth Festival, patron of the Chadian delegation to Dubai Expo Africa and of the Ennedi-Ouest youth camp: all recognitions of her influence among young people.
